In Development: Against the Wall

The game world contained within Against the Wall is not the typical world you would expect to traverse in a 3D game.  Instead of lush, rolling hills in front of you or sprawling maps the size of a small country, the world exists on an infinite vertical wall composed of irregular sized blocks.  The goal is to return to a village miles above where your character starts off their journey.  To negotiate the wall you must manipulate the blocks, or bricks, to form a stairway of sorts.  Along the way you will encounter settlements, dungeons and all manner of outcrops that you are free to explore and overcome challenges contained within them.

At present this PC game is still in development and the creator, Michael P Consoli, has created a kickstarter in order to raise enough funding to complete the game.  The magic number that needs to be reached is $6,500 (£4,065) and to date $2,127 (£1,330) has been pledged to the cause.  This game looks great and is sure to be a gaming experience you will not find in any other game.  From the screenshots it looks like you and your character will face a journey of solitude in a bid to finally reach the goal miles above you, which is very reminiscent of Myst.  The adventures you will find along your way will no doubt be engaging and will entice you to keep playing for just a little bit longer.

There is currently a free to play alpha build available to play here if you want to get an idea of how the finished product will look and feel.

If you enjoy the alpha and would like to sink your teeth into the final product you can pledge some currency by clicking here and you will of course get some perks for donating, from a digital copy of game to being able to design your own settlement that will be included in the game!

This game was really quite fun. It didn’t take that long to learn how to see the patterns of the wall to be able get to where you need to be. Defiantly worth a play. Really good find Glenn well done.
